So we are going to switch gears for a minute. So on Tuesday I had to put my dog to sleep. It was very hard. I cried like a baby. My daughter was with me and cried too. It was a very emotional day and the things that bothered me the most were not the ones I thought would get to me.
We knew this was what was best for him. He was old and tired and he was having trouble just being here. I made the appointment for a week later so we would have just a bit longer to love him and spoil him. We got him some special items just for him and he slept with us every night until it was the day. We did everything we could to make sure that his final days were great. Then it was time
We sat with him for a bit then they gave him the shot. Then we sat some more. We cried and just loved on him for a little bit. Then we decided it was time to let them take him. Then our friends took us to dinner and we were doing okay. We knew in our hearts we had done the right thing. It was the next part that really hit hard and made us cry even harder.
We came home. He was not there to greet us. He wasn't laying on his pillow. My daughter out of habit sat down on her couch and draped her hand over the edge like usual which was when Freckles would waddle over and get some lovins. That is when it really got bad, he didn't waddle over. He was never going to waddle over for lovins again.
That is what is hard about losing some one. It isn't the letting go. You know that people are lost every day. It isn't the loss that hurts so much. It is remembering. It is a remembering all the wonderful things that used to be. You realize those thing are officially over. They are never going to happen again. Now every time you see those things happening or do those things it reminds you of the person or animal and it hurts that they are not there to do those things again.
We will always remember and we will always love you. Thank you for rescuing us. RIP Freckles "The Fat Man" Hooper

Busy Times in the Castle
So here we are only about 3 weeks into January and the fun is already starting. I should start taking random courses in repair of all kinds. I keep having things break and stuff is wearing out so fast me and my finances cant keep up. The power was out for about 2 hours and I spent all day at a car repair shop but my car is still not fixed. Plus having my Mom go to the hospital didn't make things any better.
So my had something happen and ended up in the ICU which was very scary. She is home now but I do not know exactly how she is doing. They keep changing her medications but that only helps for a bit so that was weighing on me a lot.
We had a really bad snow storm so I missed 2 days of work. Then after I was able to get there the power steering that I just had fixed stopped working again. I will not be able to get it fixed for about 3 more days. After shoveling from the storm for 3 days, it makes it very hard to steer with out power steering. My fingers keep going numb even when I am not doing anything.
Of course with all the things I am trying to do around the house there is not a lot of time spent doing nothing. Due to the weather and the fact that my house is so old mice are coming in like crazy to find shelter. With 4 dogs it is not very peaceful with them searching for every noise they hear. I know this type of things happens this time of year in old houses but it is driving me crazy and my dogs are over it too.
Then my dryer died. No clean towels and the thing just went down. I currently have towels hanging in random places around my house so I can at least shower for work next week. I took the other one apart but it is really old and I don't want to get hurt taking apart something I shouldn't. My cousin said I could take hers but first I need to find some one to go get it with since my vehicle is going crazy.
I think maybe it is time to start taking some classes and then maybe I can repair this stuff myself. I hate not being able to get things done when I want them done. I do plan on getting some foam calk though and filling in as many spaces as I can in hopes that keeps the mouse problem to a minimum. If you out there have any suggestions for these situations I am all ears.

Useful Information About Target
So today we went to Target to get some dog food and we like to occasionally eat at the cafe. We first stopped at the cafe and did our eating. As a side not to this story be careful of getting the salads from the cooler the chef salad my daughter got had lettuce that was not so appealing looking. We then took our usual stroll through the $1 section. If you are a teacher you can find some useful items like stamps for papers, chalkboard border, grade books and more. Then it was off to the dog food. I myself find there are way too many options to choose from and I am always comparing prices to pounds. We are currently using IAMS. We tried the Rachel Ray brand but our dogs would not eat it very well.
Now it was time to head to the check out. As you might know Target has a few different private label cards. I personally have the store credit card. You may also know that when you use your Target credit card you can receive 5% off your purchase. I am really trying to not use my cards as much as possible due to my finances. I need to pay stuff off. So the cashier rings things up and ask how I am paying. I say debit and he starts into the whole thing about using the Target card to which I inform him I have a card already. Then he says do you have our debit card, I say no and that I only use the credit card for the discount. Here is the part I was unaware of.
The cashier proceeds to tell me that with the debit card you also get the 5% discount. This is not something I personally was told about before. All it is, is a debit card linked to your checking account you already have and then you still get the 5% off. So now you can still shop with out having to extend your credit and get the discount. It took less than 5 minutes to sign up for the card and you can use it immediately.
Another thing that some people may not know is that by using the card you can get the 5% even at the cafe and the pharmacy. As another bonus when you use your card to purchase your prescription you can have the rewards program and after 5 purchases you get a day of discounted shopping. This place is full of ways to save and now you can use the method you would have in the first place to get it.
To make this trip even better my daughter asked that since her salad was not to her liking could she get some popcorn, which I was fine with so we went over there with my temporary card and ready to save on our popcorn when The guy at the counter says to my daughter " I have not seen you in awhile but if I remember correctly you were sick so are you feeling better." He was right the last time we had been there she had been having stomach trouble and had to be careful about what she was eating. I was very impressed that he remembered but not shocked. He is amazing every time we go there. The first time I saw him there I was having a bad day and had been crying and he was so nice that I left feeling 10x better. I admit I am not positive on his name and I need to make sure to let his management team know just how great he is. I believe his name is Roy and he works at the Target on W Saginaw if you are ever in the neighborhood.
I just wanted to share the new info I learned about their card program and throw in the amazing service that I got today. It is so rare for people to just be nice to other that I wanted to make sure I let you know about and amazing local person.
